Joint exercises to detect radioactive cargo

According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, joint exercises between Russian and Chinese customs services were held at the Nizhneleninskoye checkpoint (Khabarovsk Customs Office).

During the exercises, the customs services of the two countries practiced identifying radioactively hazardous objects in vehicles and in personal luggage to prevent the illegal trafficking of nuclear and radioactive materials across the state border.

During the exercises, the Yantar-1A Radiation Monitor detected radioactive sources in a truck traveling from Russia to China. The following secondary inspection with the MKC-A03 Handheld Radiation Monitor made it possible to localize and identify the radiation source.
